History

Since 1966 TH Company has evolved as a business and provided solutions and equipment that have helped in the development of various industries, especially fishing and mining. Here are some of the landmark events over the company's more than 50-year history.

  • Founding of Técnicas Hidráulicas

    Founding of Técnicas Hidráulicas

    The company originally focused on the manufacturing of pumps and hydraulic motors for the fishing industry.

  • First tuna vessel

    First tuna vessel

    - 1967

    Técnicas Hidráulicas fitted out its first tuna vessel, Playa de Pedreña, for Pesquería Vasco Montañesa (Pevasa).

  • Técnicas Hidráulicas and Marco join forces

    Técnicas Hidráulicas and Marco join forces

    - 1970

    Técnicas Hidráulicas signed an agreement to make Marco equipment under licence for the fishing industry. The two companies jointly set up Marco España to sell Marco products in Europe.

  • Extension of facilities

    - 1975

    Seeking to upgrade its services to customers, our production and assembly facility in Spain is extended.

  • Acquisition of Mafel technology

    Acquisition of Mafel technology

    - 1984

    Técnicas Hidráulicas acquires Mafel technology to assist diversification into the mineral processing industry.

  • Focus on internationalization

    Focus on internationalization

    Técnicas Hidráulicas begins working on its first projects for customers in Asia and Europe.

  • Acquisition of Portet pumping and filtration technology

    Acquisition of Portet pumping and filtration technology

    This technology complemented the range of products that Técnicas Hidráulicas offered to the ore processing industry.

  • Acquisition of Marco technology

    Acquisition of Marco technology

    - 2002

    Técnicas Hidráulicas buys full ownership rights to Marco technology. Marco begins to work with purse seine and other tuna fishing vessels around the world.

  • First Tuna vessel project in Asia

    First Tuna vessel project in Asia

    - 2004

    Técnicas Hidráulicas successfully completes its first project in South America by installing a complete set of deck and fish machinery, as well as the hydraulic system, in “Friesland” vessel.

    - 2005

    Técnicas Hidráulicas successfully completes its first project in South America by installing its complete set of deck and fish machinery TH Marco as well as the hydraulic system in “Franz” vessel.

  • Acquisition of Productos Asteca - Rover

    Acquisition of Productos Asteca - Rover

    - 2006

    With the acquisition of this company, Técnicas Hidráulicas extended its range of dewatering products for the mineral processing industry with the inclusion of crushing, screening and classification technology.

  • Extension of facilities

    Work is completed on a new production, assembly, and quality control facility at headquarters. The new facility will allow Técnicas Hidráulicas to meet growing demand for projects worldwide.

  • First office abroad

    First office abroad

    Seeking to grow its presence in the Latin America market, Técnicas Hidráulicas opened its first office abroad in Mexico.

  • Acquisition of TMP and Saveck

    The acquisition enabled the company to round out its range of products for the mining and aggregates industries by incorporating technology for the dry and wet process of solids, with particular emphasis on industrial minerals and sands.

  • First tuna vessel in Korea equipped with load sensing technology

    First tuna vessel in Korea equipped with load sensing technology

    - 2013

    Discoverer tuna vessel in Korea is equipped with advanced load sensing technology, which improves the vessel´s operational efficiency and reduces its energy consumption.

  • Leadership and innovation

    Técnicas Hidráulicas decided to reinforce its focus on innovation by earmarking 1.5 per cent of its turnover every year for R&D&i projects.

  • First Sardine vessel project in Mexico

    First Sardine vessel project in Mexico

    - 2015

    Técnicas Hidráulicas successfully completes its first project in Mexico by installing a complete set of its deck and TH Marco fish machinery, as well as the hydraulic system, on the in vessel “Maz Sardina VII”.

  • Acquisition of Novattia

    Acquisition of Novattia

    - 2016

    After this acquisition, Novattia became the R&D&i division of Técnicas Hidráulicas, thus strengthening the company·s focus on innovation.

  • More offices abroad

    More offices abroad

    - 2017

    Técnicas Hidráulicas opened its second office abroad in Manta, Ecuador. It also opened its first branch office in Asia in Shanghai (China).

  • New name: TH Company

    New name: TH Company

    - 2018

    Técnicas Hidráulicas is now named TH Company. The group is made up of two divisions: Marco (machinery for the fishing and shipping industries) and TH (mineral processing).

  • Opening a new offices abroad

    TH COMPANY opens subsidiaries in Vigo (Spain) and Kolkata (India).

  • New office in Guayaquil (Ecuador)

    The new facilities have been equipped with a 200 m2 workshop and a large warehouse.

  • Founding of SBS

    Founding of SBS

    The new company will develop thermal waste valorization technologies.
